Why And How The Phone Battery Must Be Cared For!!!

Lives have been lost and lives have been saved because a call was put through at the nick of time. Am talking about emergency situations here. The mobile phone has become such an integral part of our daily lives that one needs to always take all necessary steps to keep the battery in tiptop condition. This is to ensure that when the need arises, “the call” could be made.

Since the advent of the mobile phone coupled with the internet, alot of people now use their homes as their offices too. With threats of terrorism and crimes, natural disasters and other forms of accidents coupled with independent life styles on the upsurge, it is only desirable that no effort should be spared in ensuring that calls can be made when necessary.

Some phone manufacturers have produced heavy duty batteries with extended life span. The only snag here is that some of them don’t fit like the usual and therefore with it, the phone may appear heavier and may not fit properly into pouches and pockets like the usual. If safety and longer life span are taken into consideration, that would make up for the inconviniences. Over time and with improvement in technology, something better would be available soon. Some phones come with energy saving feature. This function deactivates both screen and backlight thereby conserving power.

Any and everything that would cost the phone to operate at a higher power level thereby shortening talk and standby times should be avoided depending on one’s situation.

In any case, the following steps and tips should be noted:

First of all, do not press the keys if there is no need since each keypress activates the backlight and reduces the power. High capacity cell phone batteries will avail one of more talk and standby time.
New batteries on the long run would be cheaper over refurbished ones as long as the phones’ charging system is okay. Batteries with scratches at the metal tips that contact with that of the phone means that the battery may not be new.

Cell phones with warranties would give room for replacement if the battery does not perform properly within a certain time.

Batteries that are not charged often last longer and batteries should not be left charging over night for any reason whatsoever.

Because the phone is an electronic device, wet and extreme weather conditions, should be avoided.

Using the phone helps the battery instead of leaving it dormant. The battery should be taken out if it is not to be used for an extended period of time. The battery may fail to come on if left idle for a long time. In this case, see an authorised technician to ‘boost’ it.

To conserve power, the screen display should not be made too bright and the standby made short between calls.

The bluetooth feature should not be left on if not in use. Apart from exposing the system to all sorts of viruses, it depletes battery power.

If the phone is made to ring and vibrate at the same time, the battery life would be affected. Any of the alert type chosen should not be left for too long before calls are taken and it is advisable to use only the options and accessories that are needed.

Wifi and 3G features/facilities are better activated on need to use basis in other to conserve battery strength. If one’s battery is going down, wallpapers, screensavers, games, videos and the likes should be put on hold. Power is required to display any of these.

The need to take care of the cell phone battery cannot be over emphasised. In times of emergency, one’s life or that of a loved one or even the interest of a people could depend on one phone call made at the nick of time. Simple care for the battery bacause of its importance would go a long way in making sure that it is there for you when it is needed most.
